Henrietta Lack died in 1951 of cervical cancer, yet her cells still live on. The same cells that killed her, help continue to create countless cures. Henrietta a black women went to the hospital to hopefully cure her cancer,the doctor was amazed when her cells were able to sustain and regenerated themselves. During this time no laws were set in place to restrict the use of people cells for experimentation. This gave scientist the ability to do experiments with unlimited amount of cells. The Hela cells as they are called; named after both two initials of her first and last name are now used world wide.
